Welcome to Lama Lab — a place that smells of wood and where splinters fly.
How it started
Gyms closed.
We built our own.
We started Lama Holds in the "twisted" year of 2020 simply because the bouldering gyms closed and we had nowhere to train.
Kwjetak — the guy in charge of product development at Lama Holds — had a woodworking shop where he sometimes built out climbing vans. This was a no-brainer.
Long winters up north
One photo on Facebook
changed everything.
During the long winter there was plenty of time to build a mini bouldering wall in an empty warehouse near Jablonec nad Nisou.
One photo on Facebook did wonders — friends started asking us to make wooden holds and hangboards for them. The Lama Holds project had begun to take shape.
We added two CNC machines to Kwjetak's workshop and started fine-tuning the first products. By the end of 2020, the first Lama Holds hangboards and wooden holds saw the light of day.
Philosophy

We like to keep things simple and clean. That's why we chose wood as the material we give shape to.
Unlike classic polyurethane holds, wood is eco-friendly and kind to the skin of your fingers. We source it locally — quality Czech beech supplied directly from a small carpentry shop nearby.
